Our Digz Ambassadors have been busy this month, bringing creativity, color, and care into their gardens. Each month they share real-life inspiration from their backyards, homes, and DIY gardening projects. For us, it's more than just growing plants—it's about growing a community of gardeners who inspire each other to dig in and create something beautiful.
From summer harvesting to simple planting tips, here's a look at what our ambassadors accomplished in August and how they're putting Digz gardening gloves and tools to good use.
Dig In with These Essentials
Deadheading Blooms with Stacy Risenmay
Stacy's summer garden is bursting with vibrant flowers, and she knows one of the best ways to keep those blooms coming is through regular deadheading. With her trusted Digz gardening gloves and pruners, she tidies up faded flowers to encourage fresh growth.
Deadheading not only keeps a garden looking neat, but it also helps plants focus their energy on producing more blooms. Stacy's approach shows how simple gardening tasks can make a big impact on the overall health and beauty of your flower beds. Whether you're working with roses, zinnias, or daises, a good pair of gardening gloves and a sharp pruner makes the process easier and more enjoyable.
August Harvesting with Xin LuÂ
The harvest season is in full swing, and Xin invites us into her backyard for a glimpse at her August bounty. With baskets full of tomatoes, freshly cut herbs, and flourishing plants, Xin demonstrates how rewarding it is to grow your own food at home.
Using her Digz Kneeling Pad to stay comfortable while tending plants and a Digz Garden Hat to sheild from the late-summer sun, Xin shows us that the right garden tools make all the difference during harvest. From clipping vegetables to organizing herbs, she turns everyday gardening into a joyful and mindful routine.Â
Her harvest is a reminder of why so many of us plant summer gardens—to enjoy fresh, homegrown food while creating moments of calm in our daily jobs.

Garden Cleanup and Pest Control with Rebecca McLeod
Sometimes, even the most patient gardeners need a fresh start. This month, Rebecca McLeod tackled a king lima bean bed overrun with aphids and ants—so many that there wasn’t a single bean to harvest! Using long gloves and protective gear, Rebecca carefully removed the plants and cleaned up all remaining debris.
To keep the pests at bay, she applied diatomaceous earth (DE) around the raised bed. DE, made from fossilized microalgae, is a natural solution for organic pest control—it works on aphids, ants, mites, and beetles by penetrating their exoskeletons and causing dehydration. While highly effective, she reminds gardeners to apply it carefully to avoid harming beneficial insects and to reapply after rain.
This project is a great reminder that sometimes the best garden care means rolling up your sleeves, using the right protective gear, and knowing when to start fresh. A little cleanup now can lead to a healthier, stronger garden next season.
